Liberation of the Netherlands Ceremonies

Branch 005 has arranged accommodations at the Dutch Military Kaserne in Harskamp the Netherlands.

There is also a website from Harskamp. It's only in Dutch. But it has nice pictures so you can see where you will stay during a few days.

On 3 May the President of Branch 005, Gerard Hendriks, will be at the Barracks in Harskamp between 1500 and 1600 hours to show us around and get us into quarters. Gerard can be reached by phone at (0031 -6 1270 8423) if required. He will meet us at the entrance of the General Winkelman Kazerne.

Here some information about our stay in the Netherlands.

3 May; arrive at the barracks in Harskamp at approximately 1600 hours.

4 May; Breakfast at the Barracks Harskamp and depart for Holten at 0800 hours. Following the ceremony in Holten we will meet at Branch 005 in Lochem.

Later that afternoon we will travel to Apeldoorn to participate in the silent march and wreathing laying ceremony

Return to barracks

5 May; Breakfast at the Barracks and at approximately 0900 hours travel to Wageningen.

We are invited for lunch with Branch 005 who will have a Base Camp set up which has included a good old army field kitchen. Lunch will be served at approximately 1300 hours.

The Sgt-at-Arms from Branch 005, Philip, will be responsible for the Colour Party for all ceremonies. Legion members present are to be available to carry flags as required.

6 May Breakfast at Barracks in Harskamp. Following breakfast we will depart for home,
